Mummy Bark

Mummy Bark mummy bark

I just can’t get enough of candy eyes for Halloween.  They add so much to any Halloween dessert and they instantly make it a bit creepy (or a least super fun!). I also have a huge fondness for candy bark and mummies so I thought I would combine all three into a fun Halloween treat- Mummy Bark. It’s super simple.   There is really no way to mess up this dessert so it’s a great activity for kids.

You need:

  • 12 ounces dark chocolate
  • 2 cups of chopped Oreos
  • 1 big handful pretzel sticks
  • 3 cups white melting chocolate divided
  • candy eyeballs

In a heat proof bowl melt dark chocolate in the microwave stirring every 20 second until smooth. Spread on a parchment lined sheet pan. Press in Oreos and pretzel sticks making them as flat as possible.  Let set until harden.

Melt 2 cups of the white chocolate until smooth.  Do not get this over hot or you will melt the first layer.   Gently pour over entire first layer (don’t dump)  Then spread carefully until everything is covered.  Press in eyeballs.  Let set.

Melt remaining white chocolate until sooth.  Put in a piping bag (or a ziplock) snip off the end and make lines across the bark.  After you make several line cut off more of the piping bag so the line are not all the same. mummy bark
