With spring and warm weather finally here, my favorite spot at my new house is the small garden off the kitchen.  Gardening has always been one of my favorite pastimes and I was excited to have a small space where I could pass my love of gardening off to my kids.  It is such a fun family activity.

The area is small- maybe 6 feet by 18 feet but you would be amazed at how many fruits and vegetables you can plant in that spot.  This is the first spring my kids have been able to work in our garden and they absolutely love it. My little nephew also likes getting his hands dirty.

gardening Gardening is hard work. So to make it a bit more enjoyable for the kids I always bring out some healthy snacks.  The garden is the perfect spot to nurture a love for the outdoors and to address healthy eating habits.  We all want to raise good apples right?

My favorite outdoor snack are these Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches that I picked up at my local Ralph’s. Located in the heart of Washington’s apple country, Tree Top is a grower-owned co-op, deeply rooted in the communities where we work and live. For more than 50 years, Tree Top has been a trusted brand dedicated to delivering top-quality products and premium ingredients such as juices, smoothies and sauces.  I love that the pouch prevents dirty hands from getting into the apple sauce especially since gardening can get messy!

These 100% pure fruit pouches are so convenient to just grab and go.  They are the perfect no mess, fuss free healthy snack.

For every box of Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches purchased through 5/31 Tree Top will donate $1 to help KidsGardening.org to help build and grow youth gardens. This just really makes my heart happy! For more ideas on how you can raise a “good apple”, click here.
