Be…

BE Be ___________ (fill in the blank).  For my last post each year I always like to reflect on something that gets me thinking.  When my dear friend ordered Christmas cards this year, they were suppose to read “Be Joyful” but when they arrived nothing was printed on them except the word “BE”-  no photo, no joyful, no closing text.  While she joked that she was going to send them out like that, it actually got me thinking about all the potential that card held.  Be what? What did I want most to BE in 2015.

Some of the choices are obvious

  • Be joyful
  • Be happy
  • Be prepared
  • Be organized
  • Be loving, considerate, kind, gracious, thoughtful
  • Be a good mom, wife, daughter, friend
  • Be a good person

but those are all too simple for the potential BE ____  held.  After thinking about what I wanted for my life and Bloom, I came up with a few things that I really want my world to BE in 2015..

Be Purposeful- with my actions towards friends and family (they deserve my effort and intention) and with Bloom.  I have been working and thinking a lot over the last few months about what I want Bloom to be.  Why am I doing this?  What’s my purpose? I have begun to make changes that define who I am as a company and I keep reminding myself of the phase, ” just because you can doesn’t mean you should.”  Bloom has been on the back burner a bit this year (see the next BE),  so I really want the choices I make for Bloom in 2015 to clearly fit the vision I have for it as a company.

Be in the Moment-  Time is precious. That is an understatement to the max.  As I write this, my thirteen year old is sitting next to me.  How did that happen?  Too many times this year, my kids have told me that I’m not paying attention.  I haven’t been.  I want more than anything for that to change.  2014 was a very busy year for me.  Too busy.  Building a house, moving, running a business and blogging on top of being a mom to four very active kids left little time to really be in and appreciate the moment.  You would be AH-mazed at the multitasking I do; which leads me to my final BE…

Just BE- This will be hard for me but I am really going to try hard to just be. I actually sat and watched a movie with my family for the first time in YEARS last week.  It is nice to just be:)

How will you fill in the blank?  I would LOVE to know what you are going to BE in 2015. Leave a comment with your answer:)

XOXO,

Jenny

Myself! I’ve been through a lot of ups and downs the past 2 years, and in 2015, I’m going to concentrate on myself…probably sounds selfish, but it’s something I need to do for me, especially if I still want to be there for the important people in my life. My jewelry business has been on the back burner too….but I’m making it my top priority in 2015. Making jewelry is a huge part of who I am…so Be Myself is my mantra for 2015. :)

What a great post! One of the things I want to “be” for 2015 is… Be better to myself. I haven’t been treating myself very good health-wise this year and I’d like to get on track to a healthier me. I’d also like to continue to work on my small business to BE more successful!

    Happy New Year!
