One of the perks of living in Southern California are the home-grown lemons. They are abundant and everywhere. If you don’t have a tree in your own yard, you surely know someone with one. At our new rental house, we are lucky enough to have not one but two trees. Of course, the very first thing my kids wanted to do was to make lemonade and when I saw the plastic carafes in the dollar bins at Target I thought that it would be a great way for us to meet our neighbors.
I made a cute little tag available for free download by clicking HERE. The kids helped me pick and squeeze the lemons. I decided to make 2 varieties of lemonade- one for adults and one for the kids, just to make everyone happy:)
You need (make 8 servings)
In a small saucepan, make a simple syrup by combining 1 cup of sugar with 1/3 cup of water. Bring to a boil and cook until sugar is dissolved. Syrup should remain colorless. Let cool
Combine syrup, lemon juice and 8 cups water. Pour into carafe.
For a grown up lemonade substitute 1 cup (or so) water for vodka.
Add your tag and deliver.
No lemons?!? Come back later today for an even easier way to use these tags. Off to a great week of boy scout camp and girls’ sports camp.
