Make It Monday- Chocolate Covered Oreos

Hi Everyone- Hope you had a nice weekend!

Lots of dessert tables feature chocolate covered Oreos.  They are a great dessert because they can be done in any color chocolate, decorated to match your theme and everyone loves an Oreo.  The trick to making them look nice is a chocolate mold.  I have tried to make them without one and they frankly look sloppy.  The mold makes it so simple and quick.  It is really worth the small investment for the professional looking results.

You need Chocolate covered oreos

  • melting chocolate in any color or you can dye white melting candies.
  • chocolate covered Oreo mold
  • Double Stuffed Oreos
  • decorations (optional)- fondant toppers, sugar flowers, etc.

Melt your chocolate according to directions.  I always do mine in 20 second intervals in the microwave, stirring in between.  Dye the chocolate if needed.

Fill each mold cup half way up with chocolate. Chocolate covered oreos

Place each Oreo in the middle of the cup and press down slightly being careful not to push to the bottom.  Fill each cup up with chocolate and lightly tap to level the chocolate and fill in air bubbles.

Using a spatula, scrap off any excess chocolate.  Put in the refrigerator until set and then pop out of the mold.

If you want, add fondant topper (the basketballs were made by Edible Details) or sugar flower.

Honestly, your friends will be impressed:)

Off to a great week. Still looking for a rental so we can start construction on our house.  Send positive energy my way:)

Oh wow! This looks not only delicious, but fabulous! They’d make a good teacher appreciation gift (my kids have fabulous, caring teachers, and I they all love chocolate! so this would be perfect!)…or a great anything gift! I definitely must try it!

These look great! Do you think using regular Oreos instead of double stuffed will work ok? I’m going to try making these but I wanted to use the mint oreos and they don’t come in double stuffed. Thanks!
