Hey Everyone! I have 2 fabulous ideas to share with you today- a giveaway and a wholesome treat.
The other day when I was at Walmart, I so excited to learn that Cheerios ™ had just launched an awesome new campaign exclusively at Walmart – “Buy A Box. Gift A Free Box.” Basically, you buy a specially marked box of Cheerios ™ and you get to send one to a special someone. How fun is that?
People always ask me what I like best about blogging and my answer is automatic: the people I meet, even if it’s only virtually. I adore my readers dearly but I have also come to value the support and encouragement shared by fellow bloggers. I love discovering new blogs but what you may not realize is how amazing the people behind the blogs generally are. I have found other bloggers to be more than willing to share their experience, wisdom and even computer knowledge with one another. They love helping. That was an unexpected plus that I didn’t expect when I started blogging. So when I realized I got to send a box to a friend, a list of Bloggers immediately popped into my mind.
One of my new favorites is Sugar Aunts written by mom, aunt and occupational therapist Colleen. It is full of so many great ideas for kids and as a mom of four I am always on the hunt for some fresh, creative ideas to do with my family and she shares tons. Since Cheerios ™ has always been one of my kids’ favorite foods, I thought it would be fun to send a box to Sugar Aunts as a thank you!
The process is very simple:
Pick up a specially marked package of Cheerios ™ in Walmart stores. Choose from original Cheerios™ in the Yellow Box, Honey Nut™, Multi-Grain™, Apple Cinnamon™ and Frosted Cheerios™ .
Open the coupon on the front for your box for your unique code. Go to the website. Complete your e-card and mail a coupon for a free box of Cheerios ™ the a recipient of your choice!
Personally I love giving my kids Cheerios ™ anytime of the day. I came up with these yummy, wholesome dried fruit bars for snacks and even breakfast on the go.
The bars are very simple to make and take just a few minutes. Feel free to personalize the dried fruit to satisfy you little ones’ tastes. I hope your family loves them as much as mine.
You Need
- 6 Tablespoons butter
- 9 cups mini marshmallows
- 11 cups Cheerios ™- pick your favorite variety
- 3 cups of dried fruit small diced

To Make
- Grease and line a 9×13 pan with parchment.
- In a large pot over low heat, melt butter.
- Add marshmallows and stir until melted.
- Remove from heat mix in Cheerios ™.

As you may have heard, some select boxes of Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios produced over two weeks in July at the Lodi, California plant, have been recalled due to a wheat allergen. This recall only affects consumers with Celiac disease or a gluten-sensitivity. To learn more about the recall, and if your product is affected please go to: http://blog.generalmills.com/.
Who are you going to gift your box to? I would love to know. Share with us in the comment section.
