Hi Everyone. With the start of baseball season, I though I would reshare my son Luke’s Let’s Play Ball birthday party. All of Luke’s friends are completely into sports and competition so this was the perfect party theme for them. They just hoped from one game to another with their favorite being Butts Up. Play Ball is one of my best most popular party themes. I wanted it to be bright, bold and graphic. Luke helped choose a color scheme of red, navy, green and orange which were carried throughout the party and in the invitation and printable.
The boys ate lunch in our dugout which was decorated with pennants and a picnic table covered in fake grass. Custom baseball hats which served as party favors were hung from a hatrack I made. The boys each had their own take out boxes with sliders (hamburgers), handballs (strawberries), basketballs (Cheetos balls) and equipment (utensils).
A refreshment stand was filled with baseballs (donut holes) or footballs (pretzels) and drinks from minors or majors buckets. The grown-ups also had a special Grand Slam drink to celebrate the occasion.
Dessert which was set up on a concession stand consisted of basketball cupcakes and chocolate covered Oreos with fondant toppers, football and baseball cookies, Cracker Jacks, peanuts and vanilla shakes. Fondant balls that matched the printables topped the cake.
The yard was surrounds by a dozen 36 inch balloons and filled with solid beach balls. The boys had a blast playing volleyball, handball and just being boys.
Here’s a little smash cake I made covered in green grass (sprinkles).
