Hello everyone! This is Dawn from Not Just A Mommy and I’m thrilled to be here for Summer in Bloom. This summer seems to all about flamingos and pineapples. They have been popping up in my Pinterest feeds from flamingo cake toppers to a pineapple-themed Mother’s Day Brunch, prop areas and party hats. I posted about flamingos last year as the new trend…so I’m glad everyone else has caught on. So of course, I had to get in on the fun by combining the two into a Flamingo + Pineapple Party…quintessential summer.
My fabulous friend Lindi of Love The Day has a pink and navy Flamingo Party printables collection that she customized with my additional mint party color. The collection is full of everything you need to make your party custom and special.
If you are a big Dollar Tree fan like myself, you probably recognize the honeycomb flamingos. They were my party inspiration! While I was there, I scooped up the flamingo straws, the koosh looking flamingos that I used for cupcake toppers and the pineapple honeycombs. It was a good shopping day indeed.
Party circles aren’t just for food toppers…use them as table confetti. I also punched out smaller circles of patterned cardstock to add to the mix.
No, the party straws didn’t come as paper straws…I carefully removed the flamingo from the plastic straw and glued it back to a paper straw. Since my cupcakes were too tall for the collection’s cupcake wrappers, I used them instead as cup wraps.
Consumable party favors are always number 1 in my book, especially candy. I love these little trays from Shop Sweet Lulu…fill them up with your favorite treats and bag them up for the perfect thanks you.
Every party needs candy kabobs and no one does it better than Marie of Sweets Indeed. How fun are these pineapple skewers she made just for me? They are now in her shop for you to purchase…and how cute would they look displayed standing in half a pineapple?
I love macarons but have no skills/intention of making them myself. But I sure love to decorate and play with them. I turned yellow ones into pineapples with a few swipes of an edible marker and candy melts. I’ll be sharing the easy tutorial tomorrow on my blog, so be sure to stop by.
I hope you are inspired for your next summer bash, filled with flamingos, pineapples and good fun!
