I am so excited to share this GORGEOUS Best Day Ever sweets table with you today! Melissa Becker of Cacao Sweets & Treats in Grayslake, Illinois creates amazing displays of treats and sweets for her client’s events. This elegant black and gold sample display she recently put together for weddings just blew me away! The color scheme – black, white and gold with pops of pink and red – is just so elegant and the entire display is truly stunning. Isn’t this a great sentiment for so many celebrations?
Melissa says:
“We have so many brides requesting sweets tables at their weddings that we have started putting together some inspirational tables and set ups so that they can see what we can do for their special day. We particularly thought that this black and floral set up we did was a lot fun and that you might like to take a peek at it.
We used a large printed chalkboard style backdrop with florals at the top to add a pop of color that read ‘Best Day Ever’. A black and white table runner was the perfect contrast to the simple white desserts.
We also love to include handmade touches to our tables and events. So we made mini gold bows out of paper to attach to the black and white striped straws, black shimmery drink stirrers and tissue paper cupcake toppers.
Our invitations and rsvp cards complimented the backdrop that we used behind the sweet table.
We had our florist create a small bouquet that complimented the rest of the florals with a black and white striped ribbon wrapped around the stems.
We also created simple place settings with black and white china with menus placed on top guarded by a large handmade paper glittered gold bow! We loved the way the beautiful, colorful florals looked with the black and white and pops of gold.
Many couples love to have lots of different treats in mini-form on their sweet tables. We love this trend because it is great for guests to try a variety of treats. However, we also love to include a cutting cake so that they bride and groom have that special moment photographed.We created mini cupcakes, French macarons, homemade marshmallows, cacao o’s {our organic take on anoreo} and cacao stix {our organic version of a twix bar}.
One of our favorite parts of this shoot were the mini jars of homemade hot fudge and caramel sauces with hand-made gold glittered bows and tags that read “spread the love”. These make perfect gifts for your guests to take home!
