I love today’s post.  My kids are really excited to pack healthier lunches this school year.  The kids were tired of using traditional sandwich bags, we heading to Target to find something new.  The Rubbermaid LunchBlox kits are perfect solution for helping us Build a Better Lunch and you know me, I immediately whipped up some fun printables to put on the tops of them.  (Free download below)

I made sandwiches using Jif Peanut Butter and Smucker’s Red Raspberry Preserves (my kids favorite sandwich) and used a cookie cutter to make them into apple shapess.  I  cut out hearts on cheese slices and filled the remaining Rubbermaid LunchBlox kit with a hard-boiled egg, fresh berries and grapes.

For a special extra yumminess, I stuck  in a Jif To Go Chocolate Silk Cup and pretzel dipping sticks.

The whole kit goes nicely in a lunch box, but it also fits perfectly  in a gable box with a special sticker attached.  We will use the kits everyday but I think it will be fun to surprise my kids with different labels every now and then throughout  the year.

    Our kids favorite lunch box items are fruit skewers and homemade muffins. I bake a couple batches of muffins on the weekend and put them in the freezer so that they keep (chocolate zucchini, banana nut, pumpkin…) I also cook five pounds of potatoes in the crock pot each Sunday and use them in lunches throughout the week. They can take a fully loaded baked potato one day, have a small twice baked as a side dish another day or even a “smashed potato” with their main course. Having a batch of pre-baked spuds makes it easier to whip something up quickly. I have a high schooler and a middle schooler that play sports so I need hefty lunch foods for them. I also have a first grader that is more enticed by creative presentation. Keeps me on my toes! Thank you for the printables!

    I work in an elementary school and today was our first day back and I saw no lunches ever as cute as yours!!!! Makes me wish my grown up boys were back in school again to do that!! Adorable!!!
