summer pool party Hi Everyone.  Today I am sharing this super fun pool party with you.  Summer isn’t really summer without at least one pool party!  I hosted this one for my daughter and her friends after the last day of school.  The key to summer parties is keeping them bright, fun and simple. We choose a “Time For A Float” theme because we cannot get enough of all the fun, oversized pool floats at our house.  Flamingos, pretzels, Sweeties, pizza slices and gummy bears, we have them all. summer pool party

Rather than doing a bunch of printables for this party, I decided to add fun personalized details using my brand new Cricut Explore Air 2 Machine.  I had a (beach) ball creating and crafting with this machine.  It was so easy to use that it cut my work in half, and really, isn’t it the most beautiful color?

In keeping with the easy breezy spirit of summer, I kept dessert simple and easy and used everyone’s summer favorites- flamingos, beach balls and water balloons to highlight our float theme. My Cricut made this easy.  For the beach balls on the ice cream float cups, I used printable vinyl sheets and the print and cut option on my Cricut machine. Adding cut out to plain white cups is simple, inexpensive trick to making your party pretty. Kettle corn is always a kid friendly favorite. White flamingo found in cut on Cricut Vinyl decorated our store-bought popcorn boxes.  Using card stock, I made waves for the front of the dessert table and cupcake wrappers with a wave edge that I found in the Cricut Design Space. Yet another easy way to add a cut summer detail. summer pool party summer pool party summer pool party summer pool party summer pool party summer pool party summer pool party summer pool party

I absolutely love the two desserts I did make. The flamingo chocolate covered Oreos and the flamingo donuts with head cut in the Cricut Design Center.  Using store-bought donuts, fondant wings and my Cricut, these donuts stole the show. summer pool party summer pool party summer pool party

To complete the table, I painted an inexpensive particle board, added the “Time for A Float message that I cut out of vinyl and the edged the board with unfilled water balloons attached with double-sided tape.  Quick and cute, if I do say so. The party favors had to be personalized beach balls of course!   summer pool party summer pool party summer pool party

Next week, I will show you how to make some of these items step-by-step.

Would you love to have your very own Cricut Explore Air 2? Then you definitely need to enter
