Summer Birthday Ideas for Boys

Happy Friday Everyone- On Monday we shared some wonderful party ideas for girls and today I am so delighted to be sharing these AH-mazing Summer Birthday Party Ideas for Boys. With the heat and humidity just about unbearable right now, all I can think about are summer parties (particular those where I can cool off). The ideas are endless but these five summer birthday party themes are my favorites because they prove that boy parties can be so much fun!

1. Camping Themed Birthday Party For many families, summertime means time for camping. What better way to celebrate your little boy’s love of the outdoors than with a camping party? And your backyard can make the perfect setting! If you’re looking for a birthday cake idea, make sure you check out this party’s giant s’mores cake.

2. Dinosaur Dig Birthday Party: We’ve covered a lot of dinosaur party ideas at Spaceships and Laser Beams and I think that a Dinosaur Egg Hunt version of this popular theme would be perfect for summer. Hide some fake fossils, eggs or dinosaur bones, give the kids their own buckets, and let them loose!

3. Surfing Birthday Party: Take your inspiration from the beach, even if you don’t live anywhere near it. For this surfing party (which was in Utah!), they cut surf boards out of sheets of plywood and painted them using cast off colors from the local hardware store. Or give away sunscreen as party favors like they did at this surfing party. If you’re not a beach kind of person, this theme could easily be substituted for a pool party.

4. Bug Birthday Party: For me, perhaps the most unfortunate thing about summer is the bugs. But not if you’re a kid. This bug-themed birthday party - complete with real creepy crawlies — is one of the best I have ever seen. 5. Ice Cream Shop Party: If your family is like ours, going for ice cream cones on hot nights is a tradition. Bring the ice cream shop to your house. I actually love this theme for first and second birthday parties as it’s tons of fun for the youngest of kids to the oldest of adults. Best of all, there’s no baking required and you can purchase the items at your local grocery store!
