June in Bloom- A New Home

IMG_9201

Happy Friday- As you may remember, last month my family moved out of our house and into a rental so that we could build a new home.  Our old house was super run down when we bought it two and a half years ago and much too small for our family of six.  We knew we would be rebuilding.  Finally after months and month of planning and permitting, we are finally doing it!  Since this project will be taking so much of my time, I thought I would share some personal updates every now and then.  Usually I don’t do very personal posts:). I think this will be my second in over a year and a half but I thought you might find this process a bit interesting.  Since Bloom is about making events in your life prettier, this isn’t too far off the subject and plus it helps me keep track of how much progress we have made.

As of today, we have worked on our house for exactly one month.  Here’s how it went…

The Bulldozer is rolling over the trash to compact it.  Amazing how small the pile gets!

We had to dig down six feet across the entire footprint of the house and then compact the dirt.  Everyone thought we were digging a basement but no.

This is where the framing for the foundation will go.

Plumbing is going in as I type:)  I am going to be spending a LOT of time with the framers over the next several weeks!  It is such an exciting process.  Have you done a remodel or home improvement project that you loved?  Share it with us by leaving a comment.

Thanks for sharing this peek into my home life.

Have a super weekend

XO,

Jenny

We remodeled our kitchen by tearing out the wall between the kitchen and living room. This made us have an open concept and I love it!! We got tile floors, new cabinets, refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it. By the way, my husband & I did ourselves. We are very proud!!
