Ready to get a little “emoji”nal? My sweet daughter Charlotte couldn’t wait to celebrate her 11th birthday with all her friends and favorite emojis.  Charlotte planned and talked about this party for over a year so I knew it had to be everything she had envisioned.  Rather than just using emoji faces, I wanted to incorporate other emojis that were a bit more personal to Charlotte (notice the panda and bow from her two prior parties?) Once I designed the background paper/envelope liner, the party pretty much styled itself.

As always, the dessert table was the focal point of the party.  All of the desserts served looked liked one of our emojis including an emoji cake, dog and panda cake pops by my favorite Cake Poppin, Unicorn sugar cookies, lollipops, chocolate sprinkled donuts and chocolate covered Oreos.  The girls’ favorite dessert by far were the poops made from brownie bites, chocolate buttercream, candied eyes and mouths we made from fondant. The backdrop of the table was simple- our emoji paper and balloon garland.  Our emoji garland decorated the front of the table.

The eating table was set with personalized placemats, our emoji balloons and emoji backpacks which each of the girls took home. On the drink and snack table, I decorated the drink dispenser, raspberry cups and biscuit jars with emoji faces cut from vinyl. Custom emoji balloons, and emoji piñata and emoji boxes that we made complete the look for our party.

During the party, the girls made emoji slime and emoji stress balls, took selfies in our photo booth and played with paper fortune tellers. As they left the girls each got a emoji party favor box.

The girls had a blast and believe it or not Charlotte has already picked the theme for her party next year.  Off to work!

Hi Everyone!  I’m back to share this watercolor CAKE birthday Party from my daughter’s birthday last August.  I love the pale pink and peach colors of this party and it works perfect for anytime of year.  Hillary is soft, gentle and sweet so I wanted her 13th birthday party to reflect that  as well.  Hillary wanted to have a baking party for her birthday so I found a local cake artist that was willing to come to our home and teach the girls the basic in cake decorating and fondant.

I decorated our dining room with tons of balloons- thank goodness I had four kids to help me with this task.  The center piece was a runner of balloons and I made a faux chandelier out of pompoms, balloons and honeycomb balls.  Each girl had a mini cake from Cake Monkey Bakery in L.A. at her place setting and the birthday girl’s chair was wrapped with coordinating ribbon.

The dessert table feature a few cakes (of course!) from Sweet and Saucy- my favorite bakery.  Ask for Jenni if you order from them.  She always puts so much effort into bringing the vision in my head to life.  Since the girls were having SO much cake, I kept the other desserts to a minimum. Simple sugar cookies and macarons (both Hillary’s favorite) and then in keeping with the theme, cake pops and cake donuts.

I love this theme and party set up because it works for adults as well as kids.  Think 30th or 40th birthday.

Hi Everyone!  I am so excited to share my son’s Game Day Birthday Party with you.  This party was so hard to schedule.  Luke really wanted to take friends to the beach for the night but because of baseball schedules, it was ridiculously hard to plan.  Last minute we decided to have a few people from his team over to celebrate with that promise that I would take his friends to the beach for his “real” party (still hasn’t happened six months later-yikes!)

We threw this party together last minute but I love how it turned out.  Since it was Luke’s 10th birthday (a big one), I wanted the color scheme and many of the party details to match Luke’s twin Charlotte’s birthday. Black and white worked perfect for our sports themed party which I think all of Luke’s parties will forever be.  I’ve got to tell you it’s getting a bit hard to find fresh ideas for a sports party since I have done this one and this one.  Instead for this year, I focused more on the number 10 and carried that throughout the party rather than a particular sport.  I printed a dessert table backdrop with the number 10 and used it for a table runner as well. Play Ball Balloons from his last birthday and personalized gable boxes completed the table.

We decorated the rest of the party space with tons of honey comb balls and black and white photos of Luke and his friends playing sports throughout the years.

Desserts were pretty easy to find because they were all black and white.  I was even able to use Luke’s favorite Oreos and chocolate donuts which I just picked up at the market.  Dressed up store both Brine bites, white chocolate mousse, custom sugar cookies., and personalized milk jars filled out the table.  The center piece was a black and white cakes matching our theme. 

We also had a little snack table complete with sliders and chip shots to keep our players fueled.

 This party works great anytime of year.  All of the printables, invitations, tassels, balloons and straws are available in my shop.

Donut Graduation Party by Bloom Designs

Hey Everyone!  I have had a crazy month- 3 parties in four weeks.  Yes I am completely exhausted but the celebrations were so much fun and worth the effort.  This Donut You Forget About Me Graduation Party was just this past weekend.  I hosted it with a dear friend for our daughters’ who are graduation from eight grade.    The mood of the party was supposed to be relaxed, pretty and fun- just like our girls.  We tried to achieve that with beautiful decorations in shades of pink and pretty calligraphy while inserting silly signs at all our food tables.  This theme would also work great for a moving away party or any end of year gather.

We hired a taco cart for the main meal and offered all the fixing at the “Taco Bout A Party” Table.  Guest also built their own nachos at the “Nacho Average Graduate” Table which was filled with homemade quest and lots of different toppings.

Everyone’s favorite table was of course the “Donut You Forget About Me” where we served several different varieties of donuts.  I have love that song from Breakfast Club since I was in school.  My daughter actually thought I was completely nuts when I suggested this theme last year but I think it turned out super cute.  We tried to order as many varieties as possible with pink topping. We also colored our own sprinkles which we gave to the donut store to make sure the colors matched the party better.

My favorite detail from the party was the frames that decorated the fireplace.  We filled them with a photo of the girls over the years making sure that each graduate attending was in at least one.  It was really heartwarming to see how even though the girls are only 14, they have had a long history with so many of their friends.

We were so blessed to celebrate with family, longtime friends some of whom have watched the girls grow up the past 10+ years and new friend who already feel like old. We are so happy for this group of sweet kids!  Can’t wait to see what they do in high school.

Batter Up! Hey everyone- today I am editing the photos from Luke’s 10th birthday party  Can’t wait to share them next week.  I always love how his parties turn out especially this Modern Baseball Party from his 9th birthday.  I thought I would share this party again since it’s the perfect time of year for this theme. Luke is all about the game.  He lives it and so do his friends.   They play hard and rough so I wanted it to be more graphic and urban than most All American Baseball Parties you usually see.  This turned one of the easiest parties I have every styled. It just flowed.  I started with a red, black and white color scheme- one of my all time favorites and incorporated a lot of wood elements (think bats). I also knew I wanted to use a lot of baseball terms so I created this really fun background paper which I used though out the design.

When I was growing up, my Dad played recreation league baseball for dozens of year. He always kept every single trophy he got.  It really touched me and Luke when he let me use some of them for the party.  One of them was actually from 1973.  To make fit into the party, I simply spray painted them all red.  I LOVE the effect. I used most of them for the table centerpiece.  I had a runner made out of our graphics and embellished paper plates with the #9.  I again incorporated the wood element by using wooden cutlery in mini black and white bags and each boy got a “Game Ball” tube and a mini juice container to complete their setting. A custom Play Ball balloon was tied to each chair.

The dessert table was framed by two 36 inch balloons and featured Baseball Cake Pops by Cake Poppin, Root Root Root Beer, Crackerjacks, mini Chocolate covered Oreos decorated like baseballs and my favorite- Bunt Cakes. Edible Details made the most perfect fondant baseball gloves that topped the cake and cupcakes. I filled kraft cups with “Baseball Batter” which was chocolate brownie pudding parfaits and made mini baseball donuts.  Oreo Sliders and baseball sugar cookies cut out to spell Luke’s name finished the table.

I printed a few famous baseball quotes for the snack and party favor table.  The boys treated themselves, to fun baseball treats like,  peanuts, licorice, sunflower seeds, Babe Ruth bars and Big League Chew. Mini kraft rippled cups with raspberries added the perfect pop of color.  For party favors I had mini custom wooden bats made with our party logo.

As a surprise, we took the boys to a Dodger Game.  Luke even got a birthday wish from the Dodgers.

When we got home we ended the party with a smash cake for Luke, a tradition from his first birthday.  As always, Luke slide right in head first.

Anyone else have spring fever?  I am do and since I am currently working on my sweet Charlotte’s tenth!!! birthday, I thought this the perfect time to share her Bloom Flower Party that I styled two summers ago.  Obviously, this party theme is very close to my heart.  I have wanted to style a Bloom Flower Party for a long time and since Charlotte loves pink, she was happy to have this birthday party theme as long as she could have a cotton candy machine.  Done!

I wanted the party to be simple, clean and modern. I choose a mint, blush and raspberry color scheme and kept all the décor, invitation and printables very basic. Since the party was towards the end of summer, I was worried about what fresh flowers would be available, so I decided to use only paper flowers.  Luckily, I have a Silhouette Machine that helped me cut out tons of flowers. My favorite part of the party was the clear balloon that I filled with flower confetti.  We used lots of tissue paper pom poms to make the flower centerpieces and backdrop for the dessert table.

The focal point of the dessert table was a simple white cake that I decorated with a gingham ribbon and paper flowers.  Other sweet treats included cake pops, macarons, sugar cookies, jar of milk and cupcakes all fancied up with fondant flowers.

Lunch was served under a sign that read “bloom where you are planted”- one of my favorite sayings.  The girls ate petal pasta, garden greens, blossom bread and petal punch and then had some fun painting-a-posey, making flower vases and decorating flower boxes. They loved making their own cotton candy. The girls got to pick their own party favor off of a cart from Ikea that I sprayed to match the party.

The girls painted posey pictures, made flower vase and flower boxes and spun their own cotton candy.  After Charlotte blew out her smash cake, Everyone left with a sweet little box of treats.

This is Juicy! I styled this Feeling Fruity- This is Juicy Party for my daughter’s 12th birthday party last summer.  I wanted the party to be happy, fresh and bright.  She has always loved having lemonade stands so this party is a twist on that.  All of the decor, color scheme, invitations, food and crafts revolved around four fruit slices- lemon, kiwi, watermelon and orange.  Lots of honeycomb balls and garland made from the fruit slices helped set the mood.  The focal point of the party was a juice stand that I made for the desserts by wrapping the front of a regular white table with a banner and adding posts to the sides and pompoms across the top.

The juice stand was filled with lots of desserts that fit our theme including pink lemonade cupcakes topped with fondant lemon slices, watermelon donuts and watermelon macarons that I added black seeds to with an edible marker, fruit slices sugar cookies, bottles of lemonade topped with paper watermelon circles and in the center of the table an extra tall birthday cake.  The fondant toppers for the cake made by Edible Details matched our printables.

The girls ate at a table with a honeycomb and pom pom runner in pink, orange, yellow and mint.  They each had custom utensil bags, juice bottles and a watermelon plate that I made by adding cut out seed to plain pink paper plates.

During the party the girls snacked on treats from the One in A Melon table and did lots of fun crafts.  They made fruit baskets, citrus sugar scrub, lip balm in all of our party flavors and fruity paper fortunes.  For party favors, the girls filled bags with sweets from the candy table.

My favorite element was the smash cake.  I have made smash cakes for each of my children’s birthdays every year since they were one. It is a tradition they really look look forward to.  The one for this party was a four layered cake in, you guessed it, in kiwi, watermelon, lemon and orange covered with buttercream and Fruity Pebbles.

The party took place on our outside patio which we filled with balloons and pink honeycomb balls in all sizes. We hung a happy birthday banner from the fireplace and rolled blankets up for the girls to use during the movie later that night. To greet the girl at the front door we hung a celebrate balloon banner.

The dessert table was filled with all pale pink desserts. Sweet and Saucy Shop created the most beautiful pink striped water color cake to match the invitation. The rest of the desserts included cake pops, macarons, mini donuts, meringues, and chocolate dipped krispy treats. In the center of the dessert table were custom sugar cookies that looked as good as they tasted. I think sugar cookies are a great way to really personalize the dessert table to the guest of honor. Also on the dessert table was a small pink ruffled smash cake, a tradition that our family has carried on since Audrey turned one. For the backdrop of the dessert table, I just used two rows of tissue tassel which are are quick and easy but make a huge statement.

After the girls got back from dinner they sat by the fire and enjoyed the movie. Audrey loved celebrate her birthday with her closest friends! For party favors, each girl took a home a planner for 2016 with a tag that read “to good times ahead.” I hope this year is filled with many more good time for my sweet girl!

I am delighted to share this Bows and Arrows party that I styled for my sweet Charlotte’s birthday.  Its all about girl power or girly girl power to be more specific since Charlotte is all girl.  So we used lots of bows and combined them with inspirational messages.  I just don’t think we can support and encourage our girls enough!  We decided on a pink, mint and navy color scheme and incorporated lots of  bows and arrows imagery into all of the printables and decor. (I have to be honest my sweet 11 year old Hillary thought of this theme when I was trying to brainstorm a hunting party)

The dessert table was the focal point of the party. A ruffled peanut butter and chocolate banana cake was surrounded by pretty bow cake pops by Cake Poppin, chocolate covered Oreos, fondant bow topped cupcakes, macaroons and cups of banana cream pie (the birthday girls favorite).  Sugar cookies with inspirational wording by Flourish Sweet Shoppe were the perfect final touch.

I made the backdrop out of various width of wood cut to size by home depot screwed to 2x4s.  We arranged several art prints displayed in Ikea frames spray painted navy.

I tried to incorporate our theme of inspirational message in all of the party activities.  The girls “Aimed High” at an archery station and made their mark at our paint station.   They could “Shoot for the Stars” with marshmallow gun or “Sparkle and Shine” at the make up table. Their favorite activity was decorating their own journals at “Adventure is Write here.”

We set up a little snack station filled in with treats to nibble  and personalized Birthday POP side bottles.  A pretty table with ruffled tablecloths and custom place mats (both available from our shop) and boxed dinners tied closed with an arrow to match the party. The centerpiece was once of my favorite element.  Ten 23 Designs made the most incredible Charlotte arrow that I popped in the middle of white hydrangeas.

Party favors?  What else but pretty pink bows wrapped in clear plastic boxes and topped with personalized thank you tags.

As always Charlottes favorite part of the party was her smash cake with her thoroughly enjoyed all by herself.

The dessert table consisted of macaroons, cupcakes, sugar cookies and mini chocolate covered Oreos all in our color scheme.

A runner of honeycomb ball decorated the center of the dinner table and each place setting had a mini tube of confetti. After dinner the girl had planned on watching a movie so we set up two white sofas or the grass (thank goodness for slip covers), brought out a dozen fleece blankets from Ikea and filled a Sweet Treats Movie table with lots of fun concessions.

I used a cart from Ikea that I spray paint pink and gold to hold the party favors. The girls left with little treats in mini gable boxes that I made to match the invitation and confetti filled mini balloons.

My favorite part of the party has to be the mini banner with a photo of Audrey from each year of her life. Truly the sweetest thing!
