Hi Everyone!  I hope you all are enjoying your summer.  At my house everyday feels like a celebration.   I just love this time of year.  Don’t you agree?  For me, the best party of summer has to be the Fourth of July.  What better reason to celebrate than to honor our country!  It is so easy to add some festive details to any party by simply adding some red, white and blue.  Your celebration should be about relaxing and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.  By adding just a few patriotic touches you can give the holiday the honor it deserves.  Here are some of my favorite Fourth Of July Projects and Printables….

Ready for an easy Fourth of July Dessert that everyone loves? Popsicles are a staple in our household and I couldn’t imagine any summer celebration without them. I always have a bucket of Firecracker Pops on hand to celebrate the Fourth of July. I think it’s the easiest and yummiest dessert you can possibly make. Since it’s such an important holiday for my family, I like to add a little holiday pizzazz to the popsicle by stamping stripes on the stick. It is so easy to do and adding that tiny little detail that will make your party unique.

To stamp you need a stamp with a stripe pattern, red ink, Firecracker Pops.

Peel the wrapper back from the stick. Ink the stamp and place it facing up on your work surface. Press the stick onto the stamp. Return the Firecracker Pop to the freezer until you are ready to serve. I like to stick mine in a bucket of shaved ice (decorated with a star cut on my Silhouette Machine) and let the kids help themselves. They get eaten so quickly that I never have to worry about them melting.

Hi Everyone.  Must be berry week here on Bloom.  As you head out to all your BBQs and potlucks this weekend, I just wanted to remind you that festive doesn’t have to mean complicated.  It is all in the presentation.  Take something as simple as berriesthat you can just pick up at the store  (try to get food in the party color scheme or that fits the theme) and come up with a unique and thoughtful way to serve them. Summer entertaining should not be stressful.

Hi Everyone. Today I am sharing these easy and festive American Cookie Tarts with you.  Nothing reminds me more of summer than sweet berries and with Memorial Day and Fourth of July both coming up, just our luck that the berries match these holidays perfectly.  This recipe is very forgiving and both the sugar cookies and frosting can be store-bought depending on how much time you have and whether or not you feel like baking.

I made this recipe two different ways, as minis which I always love for parties and as a larger tart.  If you are hosting a party, I think it would be great to stack two cake stand and put the larger tart on top cake stand and the minis around the bottom cake stand.

To Make you need

Your favorite sugar cookies- homemade or store-bought as big or little as you want.  My minis are about two inches. To make a larger tart, use a spring form pan and press cookie dough into the bottom of pan.  Cook until light golden brown

Frosting- Cream cheese frosting works great with the berries.  I used a simple butter cream for my cookies

Berries- Any kind you like

For both the larger tart and mini, bake cookie and let cool completely.  Put frosting into a piping bag and pipe onto cookies.  You can also do it with a knife but I find the piping bag easier, quicker and neater.  Any tip works.

For the mini cookies; arrange berries in any formation you like.  Mine are all different.  The colors keep the tarts looking neat but the variation of design adds a little interest.

For the larger star:  After piping on frosting, use a knife to draw on a star.  Fill in with raspberries starting from at the outer point and filling in towards the center. add blueberries around the outside.

Have fun with these.  It is honestly one of my favorite desserts. So yummy!

One of our favorite parts of summer at Bloom is the Fourth of July.  Nothing is better than swimming, Bar-Be-cueing and celebrating our great country.  I hope we will be finished moving in time to host a pool party at our new house.     Nothing is better than swimming, bar-be-cueing and celebrating our great country.  America sparkles is our first of many posts on fun ways to celebrate the red, white and blue.  My kids can’t not get enough fireworks, especially sparklers. Fun and dangerous at the same time.

You can use this download as a tag or to wrap around a box of sparkler simply cut to the size you need.

Cut the printable into a tag or wrap a box of sparklers in scrapbook paper cut to the size of your sparkler box and then wrap Bloom’s printable over the paper.

You can stick a box of sparklers wrapped with our pritnable in a hostess gift or pass out as party favors.  Even easier- stick a bunch of sparklers in a bucket of sand and  attach the tag to the bucket with a ribbon.

Berry Breakfast Buns

Ingredients

• YOU NEED
• 2 cups of fresh mixed berries- I used raspberries, blueberries and blackberries
• Zest of one lemon
• Pillsbury Grand Crescent Rolls
• ½ cup sugar
• ½ cup powdered sugar
• lemon juice

Instructions

1. Spray a muffin pan with non stick spray and preheat oven to 350. In a medium bowl, gently mix berries, sugar and lemon zest. Roll out crescent rolls and press seams together. Spread berries over the dough and gently roll up. Cut into 8 equal pieces. Place each piece, cut sides up and down in a well of the muffin pan. Bake for 14-17 minutes or until golden brown. While they are cooking,whisk together powdered sugar and on tablespoon lemon juice and more if necessary until it is toothpaste consistency. Remove from buns from oven and run a knife around the edges. Drizzle glaze over the muffins. **HINT- I put the glaze in a mini ziplpoc bag and cut a tiny hole in the corner and then drizzle over the buns. It makes it look nicer

Hi Everyone.  Are you hungry?  I sure hope so.  These berry stuffed donuts have become my newest obsession.  They are as fabulous as they look.  I was planning out a menu for the Fourth of July and wanted to make a strawberry shortcake type dessert but with red and blue berries but the thought of making homemade shortcakes seemed like to much work and I actually don’t really like them that much.  I do however LOVE donuts so this yummy dessert was created.  It is so simple to make and can be fully prepped ahead of time then assembled when you are ready.  Believe it or not my 9 years old Charlotte ate the entire thing.

PREP AHEAD OF TIME:

• Homemade whipped cream- my recipe found here
• Fresh berries in any combination washed and stems removed.  Sprinkle on 1/2 cup of sugar per 4 cups of berries.   Mix together gently and set aside.
• Glazed donuts cut in half horizontally

WHEN YOU ARE READY FOR DESSERT

Let your guest scoop berries onto the bottom half of the donut, top with the other half of the donut and add whipped cream.  All set to enjoy.

You need

vanilla gelato

champagne, sprite, ginger ale, club soda

Fill a tall glass with berries. Any amount of portion is fine. Add a scoop of vanilla gelato and pour over your choice of bubbly.  Serve immediately.

Summer entertaining at it’s finest- quick, fresh, fuss free and sweet.

Hi Everyone!  Now more than ever, it seems like an appropriate time to celebrate America and all the things that make us a great country.  I really feel like this year more than ever we need to show how proud we are of our country.  These Patriotic Ice Cream Sundae Printables are a great way to add a festive touch to your celebration.  It is all prepped ahead of time so you won’t miss out on any celebration time.  Ice cream sundaes are definitely an all american summer dessert and these printable will make it just a bit more festive. Kids and adults always have so much fun creating their own delicious desserts.

To make this sundae bar you will need:

• ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and cookies n cream),
• chocolate and caramel sauce
• whipped cream
• jimmies, sprinkles, crushed chocolate chip cookies
• sliced strawberries
• blueberries

Before the party

• Scoop ice cream into individual containers. Mason jars or paper containers work great
• Put the ice cream labels on the top of each container
• Put the sauces in squeeze bottles.  You can find these at many grocery or big box stores.
• Assemble the toppings on a tray for a neat presentation

When it is time for dessert, simply pull the ice cream out of the freezer.
