Hi Everyone!  Today we are sharing a little Halloween trreat for grown ups.  The kids shouldn’t have all the fun!  This Halloween “Boo-ze Bar Sign” is the perfect detail for your cocktail cart or bar area. There are so many fun Halloween cocktail recipes to serve your guest.  You can see some of my favorites here and here.   After all, what is Halloween without some spirits?  Even if you’re not having a party,  this print is a great little addition to any Halloween decor.

To download the sign click here.  You can print on any printer using card stock for best results.  Since this print is mostly black and uses a lot of ink, I like to have it printer at my local printers for just a few pennies.  You’re paying for just a black and white print and the finish on it is typically a little better quality. This print fits in an 8×10 frame.

Hi Everyone!  Have you done your BOO’ing yet?  Today I am sharing  an easy BOO bucket tutorial so there is still plenty of time for you to take on this great Halloween tradition.  This is our family’s most favorite Halloween activity.  I actually think my kids enjoy it more than Halloween night.  I love it too because it teaches them a great lesson- giving secretly to others for just the joy of it.  Think of it as BOO’ing it forward.  Since our nights are filled with sports and homework, I was on the look out for a quick and easy way to put together an awesome BOO bucket.

I found everything I needed at Walmart.  Of course, a BOO kit always includes candy.  It is Halloween after all:)  I picked up Mars Mixed Minis 52 oz. and Chocolate Mix Fun Size. They include my all time favorites – M&M’s®, SNICKERS®, TWIX®, MILKY WAY®, 3 MUSKETEERS® . I like mixing up bite size and snack size because sometimes you need just a little and sometime a little more.  I also like including mini soda cans in our buckets because it’s such a treat for kids.  7UP® and Sunkist® make the perfect 8 ounce size 6 packs in a Halloween can. Find all of these in the seasonal and soda aisles. Find a container to hold all your goodies.  I made this easy BOO Bucket by gluing googly eyes to a plain white bucket.  Googly eyes are a must for Halloween.  I think this is so much more festive and cuter than anything you can buy.

Put your sodas in the bottom of your bucket, fill with candy and add a BOO card.  I found a simple card from Mars and Wrigley. It was perfect, and so simple to put together:

1. Cut out this “We’ve been BOO’d sign.
2. Fold the “You’ve been BOO’d” greeting card (page 2) and tape openings together.
3. Include the card and sign when gifting BOO bundles.

Time to make some Boo Boxes!  Today is one of my most favorite days of the year.  My family goes boo-ing the first day of October each year.  It is a great way to kick off the Halloween season.  This year I made these Boo Boxes to hold all of our goodies.

Using our gable boxes, found here, I cut the word Boo out of vinyl off of my Silhouette machine.  The using heavy black card stock I cut a bun

ch of bats in various sizes.  Place the Boo cut out on the box first.  Next fill with goodies.  As always, I just went to Target and bought a ton of Halloween stuff that my kids pick through to fill their boxes.  Each of my kids gets to pick on family to Boo.

Close the box and then add the bats.  Fold the wings inward and the just add a drop of glue to the back of the bats head.  This will give your bats a 3d effect when attached to the box.

Add a ribbon if you’d like but I’m not totally sure it is necessary.

Don’t have a Silhouette Machine or Cricut?  No problem! Use stickers or cut by hand.

We are getting ready for one of our family’s favorite traditions!  My kids love to “Boo” their friends. Every year I go to Target and buy a bunch of Halloween items.  I let the kids each choose one friend and they put together their own Boo Bag or Boo Bucket using the items I that bought.  This year we our putting our Boo goodies in these white metal buckets that I got in the dollar bin.  The word boo is made with extra large stickers that I purchased at Michaels.  Then each October 1st, we sneak the items to our friends’ houses.  It is a great way for your kids to do something nice for something without expecting anything in return.  Of course, my Boo Sign features my favorite little Halloween spider.

A quick printing tip! It is often hard for home printers to print a large area of color well and it eats up a lot of your ink.  Instead, have these printed for pennies in black and white at your local copy center.

One of my kids favorite traditions is “boo”ing at Halloween- (dropping treats at someone’s door, ringing the bell and running away without getting caught.) I love that they are so excited to do something kind for someone else without getting any recognition for it.  It’s at totally selfless act.  I thought that this would be a great activity for Easter.

It’s time!  My family absolutely loves booing.  It is such a great rush of the adrenaline trying to put the boo bag on the doorstep, ring the bell and run away without getting caught.  To make this tradition super simple, I go to Target alone and get a bunch of candy and other Halloween goodies from the dollar bin.  Then, I let each of my kids choose a family to “boo.” They are responsible for making a Boo Bag (or bucket) for that family from my Target treats.  We always go the first day of October, mostly because I can’t wait any longer for all of the fun fall activities to begin.
