Hi Everyone! I have a super fun favor idea to share with you today- rainbow seeds! These darling little gifts work great for St. Patrick’s Day treats, as favors for a rainbow, a confetti, an unicorn or a Little Pony party or just because (the best kind of gift). They really just scream happy to me- I love looking at them.
When I first thought about making these Rainbow Seed Tubes, I originally intended on using Skittles and a plastic pretzel bag. Those would work great too but for me, separating the Skittles and layering the colors evenly proved to be very time consuming because the Skittle kept shifting in the plastic bags. Instead, I turned to my old favorite- gum balls. I love the one inch size of these for two reasons. One, if you’re going to “plant” a rainbow, you need big seeds. (duh). Two, I have never meet a kid who didn’t like big gum balls. The size just makes them a tiny bit more special.
Making the tubes are super easy. I used eight inch plastic tubes, found here and made a simple, colorful tag that I attached with gold baker’s twine, found here. You always need a little gold when making a rainbow.;)
I’m sure there are lots of people in your life who would like these. I would love to see you Rainbow Seed Tubes on Instagram- tag @bloomdesignsonline.
XO,
Jenny
