Peppermint Ice Cream Cones

Happy Monday Everyone!  I have a super easy but always festive “recipe” for you today- Candy Cane Ice Cream Cones.  Ice cream is a great dessert anytime of year and so easy. Who doesn’t love a scoop of ice cream? If you want to make it a tiny bit more special, whip up a patch of these sugar cones dipped into white chocolate and crushed peppermint.  The kids (and adults) will love you.  Often simple, familiar desserts are the best and the ones people appreciate them most.  Fill them with you favorite ice cream flavor- chocolate vanilla, peppermint, or eggnog would be perfect for the holidays.

To make you need

  • Mini or regular sized ice cream cones
  • white melting chocolate
  • vegetable oil
  • crushed peppermint

This recipe can be doubled, tripled, etc. depending on your needs. Combine 1/2 tsp vegetable oil per cup of melting chocolates in a heat proof bowl.  Melt in microwave stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.  Do not over heat. Dip the tops of the cones into the melted chocolate, tap off excess and then dip into a bowl of the crushed peppermint.  Let cones set upside down on parchment paper until chocolate hardens. When you are ready to serve your guest, scoop in your favorite ice cream flavor.
