Hi Everyone! I am so excited to share these easy Christmas Tree Cake Toppers that I made last year for our Holly Jolly Party. They are made pretty quickly from regular and mini sized sugar cones. I love that they are a bit homemade looking as well. Christmas is the one time of year that I don’t mind my desserts looking a bit hand crafted.
The mini ones work great on cupcakes.
To make you need:
- ice cream cones- mini or regular size
- white melting chocolate
- vegetable oil (1 tsp per 8 ounce chocolate)
- green sugar
- pink fondant
Heat white chocolate and oil in the microwave stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Dip cones in chocolate, tap off excess and then coat in sugar. Set on parchment to harden. (Your finger wedged inside the cone should work for dipping) Decorate the tree with mini stars punched or cut from fondant. I used the star ejector punch like the one found in this set but they are also sold separately. Simply roll out fondant , punch and let dry. Stick star to the top of the tree with a tiny drop of melted chocolate.
See the entire dessert set up on at our Holly Jolly Party.
