Halloween Party Ideas

Happy Friday.  Today we are sharing a few of our party ideas from Halloween past.  Whether you’re hosting a huge shindig or just a small get together here are a few simple ways to create a memorable celebration.

MONSTER MILK BAR

I love this Monster Milk Bar. It’s great way to celebrate Halloween without full sugar overload.  This Monster Milk Bar was super easy to set up.  Start with lots of delicious milk. I decided to offer both hot cocoa and ice-cold milk since the weather on Halloween in California can sometimes be warm.  Create some cute monster cups by adding google eyes to colorful paper cups.  Offer a bunch of toppings for the kids to mix in their hot cocoa.  I used mini chocolate curls, dehydrated marshmallows and found some great candy bones. Make stir sticks out of ghost Peeps and straws.  Finish your Monster Milk Bar with whipped cream and some chocolate sauce.

I dressed up these little individual milk containers to look like crazy monsters- tutorial here, containers here.  Think about popping one of these into your child’s lunch box.

I found eyeball coasters by Wilton at Michael’s and thought it would be the perfect fit for our Monster Milk Bar.  I had originally intended to make my own eyeball but when I find something that saves me time, I’m all for it. Simply punch two holes in the top of each coasters and weave twine in and out of each one.  The garland can be as long or as short as you need. Simple:)

BLACK AND WHITE HALLOWEEN PARTY

Almost everything I do for Halloween is in black and white. I love the contrast between such an elegant color scheme and all the spooky, gory Halloween decor.    When I was putting this table together, I kept my focus on easy treats and a simple set up.  I was able to get everything done start to finish in just under an hour with the help of a few store-bought goodies.  As always, it’s all about repacking and presentation.

I started with some cute food labels and cupcake toppers that I designed for found here, and my Trick or Treat Something Sweet Sign that is available here. Behind the dessert table was tissue paper tassels which you can make or purchase here.

I made my bones by dipping pretzel stick in melted white chocolate and rolling them in nonpareilles . Large plastic spiders that I found at the dollar store fit perfectly on top of our simple spider cider (white chocolate milk) glasses. Powdered donuts hole (spider eggs), popcorn and store-bought cupcakes popped into festive black and white baking cups. Using instant chocolate pudding , Cool Whip and plastic spider, I made these Poison Puddings.  Mix pudding according to package direction and then put both the pudding and the Cool Whip into individual piping bags.  Layer into glass jars.  They were the first thing my kids ate. They always go batty for pudding.
