Hey Bloom readers! I’m so excited to be here today to be taking part in the Summer in Bloom series. If we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting before I’m Bre and I blog over at Brepurposed.
I’m all about easy DIYs in the summertime so today I’m here to share these DIY Gold Foil Coasters with you.
Here’s what you’ll need:
:: Cork Coasters (I got mine at the Dollar Store)
:: Craft Paint
:: Painters Tape
:: Gold Foil
:: Mod Podge (or Gold Foil Adhesive)
:: Paint Brush
Step 1:
Tape off your coaster to create your desired pattern.
Step 2:
Paint!
Step 3:
Remove tape.
Step 4:
Gather your gold foil materials.
Step 5:
Apply your Mod Podge to sections of the plastic rim using a small paint brush.
Step 6:
Peel off pieces of gold foil and gently place over the Mod Podge. Use a separate, dry paint brush to gently secure it in place. Repeat this step until you make it all the way around!
Tip: if you get some on the coaster, use an X-Acto knife to scratch if right off.
Step 7:
Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the entire coaster to seal and protect it.
And you’re done!
Pin for later!
These would be perfect to use if you’re hosting a summer party or to even give as a gift!
I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial and will stop by my blog to find more fun crafts like this along with furniture makeovers and free printables!
