Popsicle Party : Friday Feature

Happy Friday Everyone!  I am so excited to share this amazing Popsicle Party styled by Sam Dunne of Dunne With Style. I am dreaming of summer and this party is just that- a summer dream.  Sam use of bright colors, playful accents and dozens and dozens on honeycomb (LOVE IT!)  makes this the perfect summer soirée .

Some kids love cake and some love lollies but our little Eloise loves icypoles. So for her 3rd birthday we shared her love of fruity icy treats with our family and friends with a backyard popsicle party.

The best popsicles are fresh and fruity, so I chose 4 fruity popsicles to design the backdrop around (orange, pineapple & lemon, strawberry, kiwifruit) and let the colours of fruits inspire the entire event.

I wanted to include some watercolour elements as it tied in with the ‘icy’ effect, so we included a slight colour gradient in the backdrops which mimicked the dip dyed table cloths. I wanted the overall effect to be bright and summery, but used a lot of shades of the original colour (peach through to orange, lemon through to yellow ext) as well as the gradients and ombre effects to give the overall event a softer feel.  The honeycomb ball garland was inspired by this tutorial by Jordan Ferney on ‘Oh Happy Day’ it was the perfect way to bring all of the colours together in a fun way

Li-Ann from Ham & Pea designed a range of popsicles which were used within the invitation and backdrops; with these I made the popsicle favour boxes which guests could fill with desserts and lollies, and also the popsicle garlands which were stitched together. I wanted to create a tablecloth that had vertical striped sections to tie in with the colour blocked backdrop, do I dip dyed fabric to create an ombre effect for each section

Debbi from Studio Cake created a white chocolate and raspberry mud cake for the birthday cake which featured a watercolour effect and fondant fruits bringing together all of the colours and elements from the dessert table. Other desserts included vanilla cupcakes,  orange inspired cake in a jar, pineapple cake pops, chocolate covered oreos with fondant kiwi-fruit toppers and watermelon macarons.

Our drinks station followed the same fruity theme as the desserts station and had homemade fruit infused water and lemonade

Take yourself to somewhere summery and enjoy a little popsicle party!
