Hi everyone- One of my favorite activities to do to keep my family connected is to have a family movie night. It is a great way to carve out time with my family and to create some great memoriest. With my kids getting older, it is sometime hard to get them to give up activities with their friend and stay home with the family. I always try to do a few little things to make our family movie night a bit special. This usually involve setting up some type of dessert/treat station.
I have been waiting for The Boxtroll movie to come out on DVD and I when I heard it was coming out on January 20th, I headed to Walmart. I love the sweet message in this movie and was so excited to share it with my kids. I grabbed some Pop Secret 10 count Home-Style Popcorn and The Boxtroll DVD and headed home with the perfect combination for a Raulli Family Movie Night.
My kids LOVE Pop Secret Popcorn and so I set up a Movie Mix Popcorn Bar where they could combine the Pop Secret with some of their favorite movie candies. (What better choice for a movie than popcorn?!?!) When doing a movie night I always try to incorporate some of the items from the movie in the set up, just to add to the overall feel. I found some small kraft color boxes to hold all of our mix-ins- mini cookies, swedish fish, worms, and M&M’s. I made a little sign to explain how to make your movie mix. The characters in this movie loved cheese, so in addition to the popcorn and mix-ins, I had a little cheese platter on our table. To help decorate the table, I visited official Boxtroll website and downloaded some of the games and activities and repurposed them for our table. The website has a ton of great games and activities for you to use that would really add to your family night. The table didn’t really take that long to create but it really made the kids look forward to spending together and made the night feel important. They were happy to stay home.
My family is so excited to own this movie so that we can watch it again and again. Make sure to visit The Boxtrolls’ Facebook page for more great ideas and head to Walmart for some Pop Secret 10 Count Popcorn and The Boxtroll DVD while supplies last.

I so love that you do this for your family. I have done dessert buffets for guests at parties, so I am sure it would make my family so happy to know this set up was just for them. I am totally doing this for my next movie night! Thanks for the great idea.
