Star Garland

I as so excited to share this very simple homemade star garland with you today.  My kids are off all week and this is what we have been working on.  We will be heading out to get our tree this weekend (a family tradition) and I am a bit embarrassed to admit it but my Christmas tree is usually a mess- a beautiful, personal, heart-felt, well-loved mess.  My kids take full charge of our tree filling it with homemade and miss matched ornaments.  While I love every precious piece, I was determined to bring a bit of cohesion to the tree this year. I think this simple bright garland will do the trick.

To make cut out stars with you Silhouette machine or use a star punch found in most craft stores.  Punch holes in two of the points and thread baker’s twine in and out of holes.

This is a great activity for little ones while you are cooking your turkey.

XO,

Jenny

What a cute decoration! My kids are in charge of our tree as well. They get better at it every year. I love pulling out all the ornaments, some fragile glass, some gloppy homemade pieces, and telling them about its history. I think it is great parenting to be able to let go of asthetics and let the kids be in charge. Good for you!

This is very cute! What size did you make the stars in? I just purchased a silhouette and have to learn how to use it! Thanks
