Our Home in Bloom- Personal Post

Hi Everyone- This weekend will mark five months since we tore our house down.  So much has gone on since my last post on our home construction. I have spent about 3 hours a day making decisions on the house- from where the light switches go to how high the shower heads should be to the shape of the fireplaces.  It has been a lot but has been and continues to be a great experience.  One thing I learned is that you must be prepared to make decisions fast if you want to stay on time.  So be plan ahead and have a clear vision of what you want.

Since end of August, we have installed windows, plumbing, electrical, fireplaces, heating and air conditioning, security, low voltage (wifi, telephones, tv), exterior door frames, insulation and fire sprinklers (a must for all California construction).

This is the ugliest color insulation I’ve ever seen.  Was hoping for pink.  I’m glad it’s in the wall where I can’t see it.

And are in the process of  dry walling, roofing and are digging for our septic tank!

Now we are trying to get everything waterproofed before it starts raining.  Luckily we still have time here in Southern California. Knock on wood.

XO,

Jenny
